| McCanns traditional form (pinhead) Irish oatmeal is made from wholegrain Irish groats (the inner portion of the oat kernel) and are considered by many to be the finest oats in the world. The temperate, humid climate of Ireland promotes the slow ripening of the grain enabling the oats to draw the goodness from the soil, yielding a crop of fuller, plumper grains. McCanns uses 100% whole grains, leaving all the natural goodness of the bran, endosperm and germ intact, just as nature intended. The oat groat is cut a couple of times giving this oatmeal it's delicious, nutty flavor. This oatmeal contains no saturated fat, sodium or cholesterol and is full of energizing B vitamins. It is high in fiber, containing both soluble and insoluble which are both essential to good nutrition. Soluble fiber from oatmeal, as part of a low saturated fat, low cholesterol diet, may reduce the risk of heart disease. |
